Junction Orthodontics
Glenn opened the doors to Junction Orthodontics with a view to providing specialist orthodontics in a comfortable space that didn’t “feel like a dental clinic.” When entering the practice, you will notice clean, modern facilities throughout and a casual décor that reflects the nature of the practice.
As advancements in technology have found applications in orthodontics, we have been discerning adopters of technology that can further improve our patients’ treatment experiences or outcomes.
The practice is equipped with a digital intraoral scanner, avoiding the need for traditional ‘goopy’ molds of the teeth.
We also have a full digital laboratory onsite, allowing us to quickly and accurately fabricate retainers, along with some appliances.
The Orthodontists
Dr Brett Steele
Born and raised in Queensland, Brett obtained his dentistry degree with honours from the University of Queensland. He then worked for several years in private practice in regional NSW and the Sunshine Coast, before completing his specialist training at the University of Sydney.
Brett holds both Fellowship (General Dentistry) and Membership (Orthodontics) with the prestigious Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He is Australasian Orthodontic Board certified and is a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists and Australian Dental Association. His research has been published in leading international orthodontic journals.
Outside of orthodontics, Brett enjoys surfing, travelling, reading and bushwalking.
Dr Glenn Staples
Glenn studied dentistry at the University of Queensland graduating with honours and the Mary Moffett Memorial Prize for Orthodontics in 1981. After two years in general and government practice he returned to complete a further three years of study to gain his specialist qualifications.
Glenn has served on various state and national orthodontic committees and has been president of the Queensland branch of the Australian Society of Orthodontists. Until 2016, Glenn was an honorary clinical demonstrator at the Orthodontic Department of the University of Queensland where he mentored many of our current crop of young orthodontists.
