The team, led by specialist orthodontist Dr Hashmat Popat, has more than 45 years of combined experience achieving fabulous teeth straightening results and facial alignment for patients of all ages.
Invisalign is one of the most popular treatments on offer at Braces N Faces Orthodontics, and the clinic has both Invisalign Full and Invisalign Teen available. Other traditional orthodontic appliances recommended by the Braces N Faces Orthodontics team include traditional metal braces, clear braces and lingual braces. Appliances are suitable for children, teens and adults.
Every patient of Braces N Faces Orthodontics will be encouraged to book a free consultation to ensure orthodontic treatment is right for them. The Orthodontists
Dr Hashmat Popat
'Hash' gained his Bachelor of Dental Science from Bristol University, United Kingdom, in 2000. After graduating, he travelled to Australia to work at Sydney Dental Hospital and then for Queensland Health before moving back to the UK to complete his specialist orthodontic training at Cardiff University in 2008.
Hash continued to work for Cardiff University while completing a PhD. During this time he also took on a senior academic role on the Specialty Training Programme at the School of Dentistry, which prepares postgraduate dentists to become specialist orthodontists. He has published over 30 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conducted research projects in all aspects of orthodontics, including Invisalign®.
Hash has a wide range of clinical experience and can offer treatment to children and adults using traditional metal braces, ceramic (white) braces, lingual braces (attached to the inside of your teeth) or Invisalign®.
Hash has most recently come from a large private practice in the Melbourne CBD working alongside several general dentists and other dental specialists. He is excited to develop new working relationships with the local practitioners in Geelong and the surrounds.
Dr Sama Al-Junaid
Dr Sama graduated with her Specialist Degree in Orthodontics from the internationally respected University College London (UCL) Eastman Dental Institute, London, UK
During her final year of the degree, she presented her research at the European Orthodontic Society congress in Montreux, Switzerland, for the prestigious Houston Award. Since then her research has been published in the British Dental Journal.
After graduating, she moved to Melbourne and was an academic tutor at La Trobe University before joining Braces n Faces Orthodontics.
Dr Sama is a member of various professional bodies including the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the European Orthodontic Society and the Australian Society of Orthodontists.
